Great start of the new academic season. Erasmus University Rotterdam has won the bid for the next term of coordinating IMISCOE, Europe’s leading academic network on ‘International Migration, Integration and Social Cohesion in Europe.’ Together with Maurice Crul (the new director) I’ll be chairing the network (as associate director) for a four-year term.

The Rotterdam bid has been generously supported by the City of Rotterdam as well as by the Executive Board of Erasmus University and the Departments of Sociology and Public Administration. A great challenge but also a great opportunity to give a new impulse to IMISCOE, to research on migration, integration and diversity, and to the cooperation between Erasmus University and the City of Rotterdam.
